Silicone is a synthetic polymer that is characterized by its high temperature resistance. Silicone cables are very flexible, flame-retardant and halogen-free. Cables with silicone insulation have a reduced smoke density in the event of fire.
Silicone strands are permanently elastic and highly flexible at both low and high temperatures.
The advantage of silicone insulation is that the stranded wire is characterized by high resistance to chemicals and solvents, high resistance to cold and heat and flame resistance. When not in use, the stranded wire is designed for a temperature range of -60 °C to 180 °C.
