D-Sub connector

D-Sub connectors assembled

The D-Sub cable connector (also known as D-Subminiature) is a proven standard connector for data transmission of interface signals.D-Sub cable connectors are available as 9, 15, 25 or 37 pole versions. The plug is called male, the socket is called female.
The extensive range of D-Sub cable assemblies makes the application and use easy. However, it may happen that there is no suitable cable on the market for the desired application.

Variants
D-Sub connectors are available as right-angled connectors for printed circuit boards but also as D-Sub HD with a more compact design, i.e. instead of 2 rows of contacts an additional row is available. Thus it is possible to realize a D-Sub HD 15 in the D-Sub housing.

Tip! If the quality of the connection and many mating cycles are of great importance, the right choice of the manufacturer of the connectors must be taken into account. We prefer turned contacts instead of rolled contact pins.

Distinction:

  • D-Sub with ribbon cable connection
  • D-Sub for soldering, turned or stamped contacts
  • D-Sub for crimping
  • Mixed connectors, e.g. with coax contacts
  • D-Sub in IP67

Printed circuit board for Sub-D connectors

For complex wiring requirements, we can easily and quickly develop a small PCB in-house and make it available for production. The assembly with a printed circuit board has some advantages, especially when it comes to quality and repeatability.

We usually assemble the D-Sub connectors with small PCBs.
The better quality and producibility is an important argument for such a solution.
